In response to Re: Toilet plugs frequently - Why?
: We have a toilet that plugs frequently. THe home is 7 years old. Sometimes it does not seem to flush properly. Other times, OK. (first floor bath)

: It has a 1.5 inch vent pipe about a foot or so from the closet bend and then the pipe runs another 8 feet or so into basement building drain pipe.

: Could it be the vent is too small? Or other suggestions? Nothing out of the ordinary is flushed down the toilet. We just moved into this house earlier this year. Our previous 30 year old home, we never had a problem like this.

: Thanks

: ED ED; check for debris etc in the roof vent stack,(birds nest etc.)A 2" vent or larger would be better. Have you put a plumbing snake down the drain to make sure there is no obstuction? Hube
