| In response to Re: American Standard Cadet Bath/Shower Pressure Issues | |
|
: I recently installed the above named two-handled bath & shower unit, replacing the original 1940 unit. I flushed the pipes (mains are galvanized) of built up rust and a good amount of pressure was present. After installing the new valves (1/4 turn ceramic disc)within the hot & cold handles, I lost a considerable amount of pressure. I removed the valves & flushed the whole system again, but no better. American Standard told me they do not make a replacement valve that would allow more water to flow to the tub spout or the shower head...government regulations. : Can anyone recommend a replacement valve for the hot and cold handles that would allow more water to flow? : Thanks - J. The government regulations that apply to American Standard also apply to all other plumbing manufacturers. No shower head may put out more than 2.5 gpm. |
