: We are remodeling a motel, putting in new tile which raises the floor too much for the existing flange to work. Is there such a thing as an adjustabe flange that will allow the old toilet to be reinstalled about 1/2" higher?

The tile needs to go under the flange. The flange should sit on top of the finish floor or you may be limiting the life of the floor. The flange area is a great place for water to get underneath the tile. Whether your flange if plastic, cast iron or brass you should replace them. LonnythePlumber
