: I just purchased a Toto Drake and had it installed. the question is, is it normal to have to hold the flush lever for a delayed amount of time to get a complete flush? or is it a matter of adjusting something. My plumber told me that was the way it is due to the large 3" flapper. They were trying to sell me a Crane Home depot special for around $150.

The tank does not empty on any of the new toilets.
The flapper is only open a short time.

It's not important that you use 4 gallons when 1.6 gallons flushes everything down.
You can of course hold down the lever, but it's overkill.
I think that when you have been using it a while, you will worry less about it.
