|In response to Re: Price Pfister Diverter Repair|
The PP diverter is a "double seating" stem, so if the gasket that seals it to the body is too thick the stem will not seat on the inside surface and water will leak around it to the shower, or tub, when the diverter is operated. A thinner gasket, or more tightening may allow the stem to go in a little further and seat properly. Too thin a gasket, however will allow the inner seal to take place without properly sealing at the outside and then you will get a leak in the wall so check it before replacing the chrome trim. You may also have two gaskets in the sealing point if the old one did not remove with the stem when it was taken out.
: When replacing a Price Pfister Shower Diverter Stem and seat, is there another part behind the seat which needs replaced? My diverter never shuts the water off at the faucet when it diverts the water to the shower head.
