Gary,

My frost free sillcock is worn out and leaking. The design is about twenty years old, and doesn't match what I find at my local big franchise hardware store.

But that isn't the worst of it. The entire assembly is not only inside the house as expected, but also within the walls, and above the floor with no access panels or holes apparent, that includes the secondary in line valve. Meanwhile it is leaking.

The operating principle of the sillcock seems simple enough, and I thought about buying a new one, removing the core and placing the new core inside the old outer casing, but the designs of the stems seem different.

I also am considering just buying a regular spigot, ball type valve and screwing it on the outside at the end of the outer casing of the old sillcock, or failing that just getting some screw in plugs.

Meanwhile its leaking. What should I do?
