|In response to Re: mixet valve removal|
Sometimes the only way to remove it is to make a cut down the side of it, and across the front to the stem opening, and then spread it open with a screwdriver to release it so it will turn.
: Due to hard water (I guess) it has been very difficult to dismantle my old Mixet shower valve. I finally got the knob and handle off, but I CANNOT get the stem retainer nut to budge. I'm afraid I'm going to deform it so much that no tool will grab it, Any advice? By the way, the chrome sleeve around the nut will turn, but not the nut itself.
: Just to make double sure...the retainer nut should loosen counter clockwise, correct?
: MANY thanks for your help on a holiday weekend.
