The tile should be about 3/4" from the pipe so the socket can go down over the pipe. : We are installing ceramic tile on cement for a basement bathroom. No toilet has been installed, though it is stubbed in and the top of the pipe is level with the cement floor. : What is the proper procedure for installing the tile and toilet? I have had trouble finding guidance on this subject. This is our first experience with laying ceramic tile and we want to be prepared. : Do we tile approximately up to the edge of the hole in the cement and then place the flange over the top of the tile and work from there? : Are there things we should watch out for, avoid or do to prepare? : Answers to these questions or a URL to guidance on this subject would be greatly appreciated
