You can go either in-line or roof mounted. Yes they are much quieter. Check out Nutone I have used theirs but I'm sure there are others. It is even possible to have one fan serve all your sources, not sure I like that approach as you are sucking air from all sources at the same time. : I've seen the Panasonic fans listed here as very quiet. : How would they compare to a remote in-line fan mounted in the attic that sucks the air out of the bathroom? Is this concept more hassle than its worth? : Does anyone make kits with fans, controls, lights, etc? : I'm also looking for the same for over our regular range (30"?). : Thanks
