I want to buy a Toto soft close seat from Terry as we do not have these over here.

However looking at the spec' for the Toto hinges they appear to be 5.5 inches hole centres whereas UK toilets hinges hole centres vary from brand to brand.

Here in the UK the hinges usually slide along the rod that holds the seat and lid giving a very variable fit for different sized hinge holes.

Can some kind soul tell me if the 5.5" centres are a Toto brand special or a US standard ?
