| In response to Re: shower pan over existing drain assembly? | |

If you are going to do it correctly, the drain fitting goes in before the membrane. Then the membrane is clamped between the upper and lower parts of the drain fitting. : I have completely demoed my existing bath room and want to install a new tile shower. I have found lots of information and feel comfortable doing it. ONe question however. All the info I find shows put in the drain assembly after laying down the membrane. If the drain assembly is already in place from the previous shower, do I need to remove this or can I place the new membrane over and will the glue around this be suffient?
