|In response to Re: plumbing stack venting|
: Yes, at least for the vent stack. Otherwise the sewer odors will be in the attic and will have a tendency to flow down into the house.
: : We are remodeling our main bath and noticed that both the plumbing stack or the bathroom fan were vented directly into the attic. Shouldn't they both be vented through the roof, or is it necessary?
YES both stack and fan vents should go to OUTSIDE, The plumbing odor is dangerous and moist air from the ehx. fan will destroy the insulation "R" value, given time. vent both to outside (separately)...Hube
