|In response to Re: Pop Up Style Tub Drain Removal|
You cannot clean the drain through the fitting on the bottom of the tub, even if it did not have the piece in the middle. You have to remove the overflow plate and snake from that location.
: I recently moved into a house with pop up style tub drains. One push to close drain, another to open drain. One tub drains very slowly and I want to clean out. I tried from below but the drain goes into PVC and it would not be easy to access.
: I can unscred the drain cover and remove a rubber gasket but there is a piece in the center of the drain which goes up and down that I need to get out to snake the drain.
: Can this piece be removed or can anyone offer me advice on clearing out the drain. I think it is hair since the sink drains were full of hair as well.
