It is not only acceptable, but it is the way all countertops are made to fit. Use a fine saw blade, and if you use an electric saw, either cut on the bottom side of the counter or use a blade that cuts on the downstroke to keep from chipping the material. : I am looking to install a premolded sink countertop on my bathroom vanity. My problem is I have a width between my walls of 56". I would like to use a 60" long countertop and trim it(2" from each side) to fit between my walls. Is this acceptable? If so, what would be the best way to trim the countertop?
