In response to Re: where to drain washing machine?
: I am trying to buy a house with a septic system and washer drains directly to the outside into the yard. I have failed a septic cert. for this. there is no city sewer. I cannot tie it into the septic because it will overflow. Can I remove washing machine and all plumbing assocated with it and get it recertified?

Ask the certifying authority. I am curious how you know your septic will overflow. Is your field closing off? People used to drain their washing machines into a buried 55 gallon barrel filled with rocks because certain laundry detergents would foul the bio balance in the septic. Do not do this unless you check with your jurisdiction first.
