|In response to Re: Jet Tub Installation|
: Is there anything I should take into consideration before I pick up the great jet-tub bargain I came across? It will be replacing the current metal tub.
: I know that I have to check the orientation(LH, RH), and build a support frame for it(as recommended by many a website) but I'm wondering if there are any special plumbing requirements. And as required, I will install wiring w/ a GFCI.
: Thanks in advance,

Most drop-ins are not supported by their lip. Read the manufacturers instructions. The framing is for finish and not to support the tub. We usually set them in mortar. Your unit may be higher requiring you to reset the water valve and/or getting a spout extention if you leave the wall valve in. The drains usually do have to be modified. The electric takes a dedicated circuit from your fuse box. Not just a GFI. Make sure the unit will fit into your 5' tub box and give consideration to how far it comes out into the room.LonnythePlumber
