The sink could be connected in any of several ways, some of them would not make your installation possible as far as the drain is concerned. The only way to know for sure would be to open the wall and see how the drains and vents are piped.

: I am hoping to install a stackable W/D next to my washroom on the top floor of a 2-storey house. My intention is to back it into the linen closet. The linen closet backs onto the wall immediately to the left of my bathroom sink(with toilet right of the sink).
: I would like to know if the existing plumbing DWV and water supply for the sink will be sufficient to handle this?
: The house was built in 1980 and the plumbing is primarily PVC and Pex.
: Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.
: And BTW, I am in western Canada if it means anything with regards to codes etc.
: Thanks in advance
