Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. I'm getting the pan with the drain at the end. I've just heard conflicting information. I've been told that a shower drain has to go straight down, directly into a p-trap as opposed to putting in a 90 elbow and plumbing it like a tub. I'm trying to figure out who's right. : You either have to move the trap, or get one of the new shower bases that has the drain at the end so you can use the existing drain setup. : : I'm looking to remodel the basement bathroom. I want to replace the tub with a shower. I'm getting a 60" shower pan so it'll fit in the same space as the tub. Do I have to cut into the floor to move the p-trap so it is directly below the drain or can I just put in an elbow and use the existing p-trap?
