Your wax seal may not be the problem. Here are our recent adventures: We have been fighting a leaky wall-hung toilet. We mounted the bowl without the tank, and flushed it by dumping buckets of water. No leak visible. The trouble comes up when we put the tank on -- we cannot seem to eliminate incipient-to-deluge dampness. I visited American Standard's website. It is very difficult to implement their tighten-with-a-wrench suggestions, and I am afraid of breaking the bowl or tank. It's difficult to firm up the two-point connection offered -- the tank currently does not rock from side to side, BUT I can pull it out toward the room, orthogonal to the line of bowl bolts. (Wrong tank for this bowl?) I'm going to try American Standard's 800-number. If that bears no fruit, I'll have to break down and call a plumber...
