It is even less fun to call the plumber at 3:00 a.m. because you tried to repair the tub faucet without turning the water off. That is what a customer did before he called me. In addition, he did not have a shutoff at the building and the water meters were in several different locations and no one knew which was for his building.

: Just moved into a 1985 townhouse. The home inspector was unable to locate a central water shut off valve. Since I am trying to replace the shower now, I really need the water turned off. It's be no fun to actually call a plumber--any ideas??
