Our first floor washing machine drains into a utility tub. We have had several instances where someone leaves a rag or something in the tub and starts doing laundry. When the machine drains, it fills the tub to overflowing. I was going to install a standpipe to bypass the tub but have read that a 1 1/2 or 2 inch standpipe may not be adequate for todays high speed washing machine drain pumps. Any suggestions? |
