Someone recently suggested I put pope dope on the ferrel (spelling?) before assemblying. I'd never heard of this. I'm thinking maybe I'll give it a shot and if that fails I'll pull the ferrel and sweat on new valves. O wasn't aware there was a tool for pulling the ferrel - hopefully I can find one somewhere.
