Building a tub would create one that is very cold and uncomfortable. Unless the stairway is less than 18" wide any tub can be carried down it. : I am over 6 feet tall, weigh in at over 250. I want a soaker tub in my basement (we have cold winters here). The stairs are too small to bring in a large tub. If I build a tub with cement board and tiles I am concerned that the board will bow under the pressure of the water and then crack the tile. Any suggestions? : Thanks. : Troy : Toronto, Canada
