|In response to Re: Leaky shower knob|
That leak only needs tightening of the packing nut around the stem. You replace the stems, seats, and washers only when the water will not shut off and leaks continually out of the spout.
: When I turn on the hot water in my shower (two water knobs with a pull-up on the spigot to turn on the shower), most of the water comes out of the spigot, but some flows out of the pipe from which the knob is attached at the wall (this has been getting steadily worse). Can I fix this myself, or do I need to replace the entire shower fixture? I need detailed instructions, please.
