Funny you should say that, since my recommendation to customers is just the opposite. I have had more broken Moen faucets than Delta, and the Delta 1700 series has a separate temperature and volume control. As always it is a subjective thing based on our experiences with a particular brand. : If I were you, I'd replace that Delta shower valve with a Moen. In my opinion, Delta's aren't very well engineered & the parts are flimsy.
