We had very hard water for years, and went through about 2 water heater coils a year, ever since we put the clearwave in, haven't had to replace a single coil . It's been running for 6 years now without a problem. : : Does the Clearwave electrostatic water softener actually work. Our water is very hard from calcium and other salts. Do you know if the Clearwave is effective for a long period of time? : : Thank you. : According to Consumer Reports from 9/98(see link) it does not work at all.
