sewage pump vs. grinder pump

I had my builder rough in for a bath in my basement when the house was built. We finished the bath about 6 months ago and it was working fine.(it hasn't seen much use until 3 weeks ago.) The basement drains to a sump pit and an ejector pump pumps the waste up and out of the house. The problem is that the builder didn't install an ejector pump. He installed a sump pump that won't keep up without clogging. I need to replace it, but I don't know if I need a grinder pump or just a 2" ejector pump. Can you help?

I have 2" piping leaving the sump pit to the main sewer line. We are on a sand filter septic system if that helps. The only thing that drains into the pit is the a/c floor drain, a toilet, a laundry tub, a sink, and a shower. Like I said, it didn't see much use until we had a house guest come and stay with us.
