How long is the p-trap as it goes toward the wall. Did you measure it for the right length?
If it is too long, it will block the drain.
If that is not the problem, you may need to snake the waste line. Terry

: I am remodeling my basement bathroom. When I installed the pedestal sink, everything went fine until I ran water through the drain to check for leaks. No leaks but the sink will not drain. I removed the sink and checked for blockage in the lines with a foot long flexible tool and it went all the way in. Why won't the water drain from the sink?

: (The new pipe from the sink to the wall is plastic. The old pipe is galvanized.)
