|In response to Re: old toilet flange 1/4 above remodeled tile floor - HELP|
If the toilet is setting on the flange when you put the toilet on the floor, then it would squeeze all the wax ring out and not seal properly. Do not use wood shims, use the plastic ones available at plumbing and hardware stores. Plumber's putty will compress and not do anything to prevent the rocking.
: I have a cast iron flange that is less than a 1/4 inch higher than the floor. When I go to set the toilet the back is flat but the front an rock up and down. Do I replace the flange (hire someone) - that sounds expensive or do I shim the forn with wooden shims or makes a plumbers putty legde for it to rest on.
: IDEAS? Help?
