Basement Floor Drain

I live in a 80+ year old house in Michigan, with city sewer. The washing machine (in the basement) drains into a floor drain. We sometimes have water from the washer over flow onto the basement floor. I can see into the drain and there is always standing water in it. We have had the lines routed out proffessionally almost once a year to help with this problem but it doesn't really do much, and they usually don't find many roots or anything. I think the problem is not in the line that goes outside, but in the line that runs from the floor drain. I was told that there was no way to clear that line using the power snake. I have also added "drain build-up remover" liquids. Nothing really seems to help. Also, when the washer drains, the kitchen sink gurgles. What is happening, and how can I fix it?
