: One more thing to consider: The pH of the soil must also be above 6.5 if any of the copper is buried. If you have and ignore the low pH issue, your copper pipe will corrode and develop leaks, and it can be very expensive to dig it up and replace it later.
: Copper is always my preference, unless there is a low-pH problem.
