The noise is coming from the pressure reducer valve area. This valve was only replaced about 5-6 yrs. ago. Is this normal for it to have this problem in such a short time? How long do I have before it is replaced? What could go wrong if not replaced soon enough? Also what is a reasonable price to pay to have it replaced? Thank you for all your help! : You probably have a speck of dirt on the seal that lets water into the bowl. Flush the toilet, hold the stopper up a sec and run your finger around that seal and then let it close. It could be something as simple as this... Mine used to do the same thing, made a whistling sound... :
