The hammer arrestor has to be installed at the point that is causing the hammer. Anywhere else and it is just luck if it minimizes the problem. You need as many arrestors as there are hammer points, most likely the washing machine and dishwasher. : have bad water hammer, from main on ground floor 3/4 copper pipe runs 30ft to kitchen, to laundry room, to boiler (hot water heat, no hot water heater) to upstairs, where and how many arresters would i install, noise mainly on ground floor
