|In response to Re: Laundry Room Plumbing Question|
The only modification, assuming I am interpreting your description properly, is that the washing machine drain also has to go into a sanitary tee. Using a combo creates an illegal 3/4 "S" trap.
: I'm plumbing a washing machine outlet box and a single laundry sink. My plan is to have a P trap at the bottom of the stand pipe for the washer, come out of the trap horizontally, connect to a combo wye, running vertical from top of wye will be a san tee to accept the laundry sink trap (horizontal part of tee) and the top of the san tee will continue up through the ceiling for the vent. The other end of the combo wye will continue horizontally to drain. Do I need a separate vent for each or will this work? All pipe will be 2 inch. I was told by the building inspector that we use the IRC plumbing code. Does this sound correct? Thanks for any help. -Ed
