Well, it wasn't so bad after all. This was a tri-level house. The sink drain lines dropped down about 16 inches or so to a 3 inch horizontal drain line. The 3 inch cleanout that I was unfamiliar with was right there at bottom wall level but the counter bottom was in the way. We used a sawsall to remove part of the bottom of the cabinet, rigged a pipewrench ( We only had 1 giant one) on the cleanout and finally got it off. We then ran a 8 dollar hand snake 25 feet, in and out 4 times, then used a 1cent drainblaster, it was 10 bucks but Lowes was selling it for a penny for some reason! We ran that gizmo in the line with a garden hose and whala, it was fixed. It seemed like the plumber guy could have fixed this in 1/2 hour, remove cleanout, he's gotta have more pipe wrenches then we did, and run snake. It was odd since the guy came out at 8:30 p.m. then he didn't want to do it? And I still am puzzled over the 275 quote which he said was a break ( cause of friend of a friend) as he said he normally charges 375 to 450?
