stuck drainpipe

Hi,
I have an older house, built in the 1930's. Recently when trying to update the bathroom, the drain trap broke off in my hand. Then part of the drain stub out came off. Now we have a 1/2" of cast iron pipe with threading on the inside that has a connector of some sort, possibly lead, stuck inside. This connector appears to have been threaded on the outside, but is now badly beat up. Do you have some advice on how to get this connector out of the cast iron pipe?

Thank you!
Sincerly,
Jennifer Larder
