Don't use a propane torch. Sewer gas is very explosive. Brass hammer and chisel perhaps would work to get the old piece out. An alternative would be to open the wall enough to cut the whole joint out and use Ferncos to put in new PVC fittings. Cutting cast iron is best done with a snap cutter from a rental shop, but an industrial grinder will work (be careful, these can bite!) I've heard some guys use a recip saw, but I never found a blade that would even scratch cast pipe. They're probably are some, I just didn't find 'em.
