sewer backs up in tub

I have a tri-plex (ground floor and the upper level each have an upstairs/main floor)in which the ground floor tub continually gets backed up.In the past three months I have augered the lines at least 6 times and the tub drains great for a few days. Then it slows and we go back to square one. What's funny is the sink and toilet never have a clog. The only other thing I have noticed is the upstairs apt. has done a wash within a 24 hr period of the back-up. The clog consists mostly of food particles . Any help appreciated.
