I would suspect that they may be old Kohler drains which had a cast brass basket. If so, and if you could find replacements, they would cost considerably more than a new drain fitting would. : I RECENTLY PURCHASED SOME OLDER FOUR PLEX UNITS. ALL KITHEN SINK UNITS HAVE A EXTREMELY LARGE "STRAINER BASKET INSERT" [CHROME PLATED BRASS, WITH A MOVABLE STOPPER]. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 3-1/2" IN DIAMETER [3-7/8" TO THE FLARED TOP EDGES] BY 1-1/4" DEEP [INCLUDING THE STOPPER]. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I'VE BEEN UNABLE TO LOCATE A SUPPLIER FOR A REPLACEMENT INSERT FOR THESE SINKS. MANY PEOLPLE SUGGEST THAT I INSTALL A NEW BASKET ASSEMBLY, BUT I AM NOT A FAN OF DISTURBING "VERY OLD" PLUMBING WHEN NOT NECESSARY. ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECAITED.
