Hi There; My contractor drilled a hole to run my satellite cable in my house and nicked my cold water line (after the pressure pump) for the house. The nick is about a 1/4" to 5/16" in size, and in a very tight spot. He brought in a plumber who said it was too tight to get to with solder, a proper coupling and a torch, so he put a 1/8" thick piece of rubber over the hole and sealed it with three small hose clamps, which he said would last just fine. Is this possible? I am worried about getting the ceiling reinstalled and the joint leaking in a few years. Thanks for your help, Rick |
