bathroom addition, new sewer stack

am starting to consider new bathroom over garage. my questions are; does it matter how many turns i make in routing my new stack to the main line? i have a 4" floor drain and then my washing machine and sink, this is where i would need to cut into concrete to add. and problem with this? my suburban chicago house was built in '67, do you think i will have cast under the concrete? how will i cut the existing pipe and add a t, will i use pvc? how do you deal with morons like us?
