Toto toilets use a standard roughin.
It sounds like you basement may have a 15"-16" roughin.

The Carlyle comes with the standard 12" roughin Unifit.
You can order a 14" unifit for it.

: Hi Terry!
: If this question sounds stupid please forgive me but I am very new to this subject.
: My plumber is in the process of installing new toilets in my bathrooms. All three toilets have different lengths from where the wall behind the toilet and the toilet lid hits. For example, the basement bathroom has about 4" space from the wall to the back of the toilet. Could you explain why the toilets would not be flush against the wall? Is this a normal recommended space? Does the space depend on the piping and plumbing? I understand that Toto toilets require a different rough-in than standard. Is it possible to install incorrectly or could he have plumbed it incorrectly from the beginning?
: The space between the toilet and wall seems very large.
: Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
: Thank you for your time.
: Lou
