|In response to Re: Venting From A Basement|
For $5,000.00 most plumbers could install the complete system including the toilet and sink. There is some merit in using a separate vent through the roof, but it is not a necessity, so it can be connected into the stack at the proper level above the second floor, and it can make as many turns as necessary to do it.
: I posted a message with you last week about venting from a basement, and your advice was to vent 6" above the upstairs fixtures. I've had two estimates since, one was for $5,000, this contractor said I had to run a separate vent for a sewage ejection system, and that the pipe could not have ANY bends in it. This would mean a new pipe through an interior wall up thru the roof. The second contractor quoted $150 and said he could tie into an existing vent pipe that ran right overhead which went to the roof. Who is correct?
