| In response to Re: Polybutylene use after 1995??? | |
|
The class action settlement does not cover any installations after July 31, 1995 when the agreement was made. I suppose the thinking was that if anyone installed it after the settlement, they probably needed a reality check, but the companies were not going to reward them for their "stupidity". : I am looking at a house built in 1997 that the inspector says has polybutylene pipes visible with copper inside the house(visible connections and copper under sinks etc). I am confused as to why this product was installed after 1995 and the lawsuits. I cannot find that this product was removed even from international plunbing codes, even though some municipalities removed it from their codes. Unforutnately it was part of the code in 1997. : If I purchase this house and sustain damage, I will not be covered by the lawsuits because it was installed after 1995. HELP!!
