The air test will work. It is the proceedure used to test gas pipe installation. You'll have to get the necessary pump and gauge from a gas installer and buy whatever fittings it would take. Then just pump the pressure into the system and let it stand. If the pressure gauge holds, you're OK. If not, then take liquid dishwasher soap and apply to each joint. You might also feel or hear the leak. If you have done your soldering with reasonable care, you won't find a leak, but of course there's always the chance.
