: I would like to install a diswasher in an older kitchen, there is no place to install near the sink, but on the opposite wall there is the old washer/dryer hookup. Question, can I drain a dishwasher through a clothes washer drain?

Mike,
Sure. Depending on your area, you may be able to direct connect it or you may need to "air gap" it. In Washington state, they make something called a "Johnson Tee" that acts as an airgap, made to fit onto a 1.5" pipe, with a 1/2" intake.
