: : : : I'm putting a new half bath in my unfinished second floor dormer. The Dormer is not the full width of the house so it leaves gables (the 'original' roof line) about 2feet on each side of the house. Can I vent the 3" toilet stack through the gable roof near the toilet or does the vent stack need to go through the dormer roof for proper code? The plumber that is doing the job says it's ok but I have never seen a 3" stack thru a gable. I have seen 2" (sink,tub) but not 3"(toilet) on some of the area homes. For some reason I don't believe him. A lil' help is appreciated....thanks
