|In response to Re: Leaking access to my main vent pipe|
That access hole was probably a cleanout opening and was not intended to be used as a connection for a second plumbing system. IF the threads do not mate properly, there is no good way to correct it other than to replace the fitting.
: I have an access hole in my vent pipe in my basement that I have to have a connection to from the bathroom that was added on to the house after the original bathroom. The problem is the reducer that was used does not fit because the threads in the access hole are stripped. What I need to know is what can I use to seal these thread or seal around the reducer to keep any waters from leaking unto the basement floor. I really need help with this one. Thanks for any advice you can give me.
