If you are lucky, you did not do anything wrong, you just did not replace the seats. If you are not lucky, then you may have installed the new stems in something other than the full open position and broke the inside of the valve. If that happened there is no solution other than to replace the entire valve. We cannot tell you which of these two, or possibly something else, is your problem, since we cannot check the valve.
: My bath is dripping when I turn the valves off as hard as I can so I replaced the stems and now it leaks worse. I did not change the one from the shower just the hot and cold, It is cold water coming from the spout. The house is 50 years old. What did I do wrong?
