If you installed a backflow device the Auto Circ, and others like it, would not work. They are not a perfect solution, since the unit will stop circulating when the temperature reaches 100 degrees, otherwise you would fill the cold water piping with hot water, but they do help quite a bit. : I am interested in the autocirc act-303-btw retrofit : hot water recirculating pump.
