In response to Re: Autocirc
If you installed a backflow device the Auto Circ, and others like it, would not work. They are not a perfect solution, since the unit will stop circulating when the temperature reaches 100 degrees, otherwise you would fill the cold water piping with hot water, but they do help quite a bit.

: I am interested in the autocirc act-303-btw retrofit
: hot water recirculating pump. It works by pumping the
: hot supply into the cold, until hot water starts to show
: up and then closes the valve.

: Is there a problem uses this, because it seems to me
: you are introducing backflow on the cold line. Do you
: need some kind of backflow prevent on the branch to the
: water heater?

: Thanks
